Iran downplayed, this Wednesday, the sending by the United States to Israel of an anti-missile system, High Altitude Air Defense Terminal (THAAD), to strengthen its response capacity in the event of a possible Iranian attack.
“The THAAD system is an anti-ballistic missile system that is nothing new and already existed”Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh told reporters after the Cabinet meeting.
Nasirzadeh pointed out that the deployment of the anti-missile system with US soldiers “it is part of psychological warfare” of the enemy, and assured that it does not cause “any particular problem” to his country.
“None of the threats from the Zionist regime are new”he assured.

The United States announced on Sunday that it would send the THAAD system to Israel, to strengthen the response capacity against possible attacks by Iranas well as soldiers to operate it by order of President Joe Biden.
The initial components and personnel necessary to operate the THAAD arrived in Israel this Monday, and In the coming days, new elements and workers will continue to arrive.
The deployment of the defense system occurs after Iran attacked Israel with about 180 missiles on October 1in a bombing that was a response to the assassinations of Lebanese Hezbollah militia leader Hasan Nasrallah and an Iranian general in Beirut and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in July in Tehran.
