An Air India plane, flying from New Delhi to Chicago, United States, made an emergency landing this Tuesday in the Canadian town of Iqaluit, in the arctic regions of the country, after receiving a bomb threat.
The plane, a Boeing 777-300ER, landed without incident at Iqaluit airportabout 2,400 kilometers northeast of Toronto, at 5:20 a.m.
The Canadian Mounted Police noted that The 211 people who were on the plane disembarked in Iqaluitwhile the bomb threat was investigated.

Air India said in a statement that The plane was diverted to Iqaluit as a precaution, and added that in recent days The company has received several false threats against its flights.
The emergency landing of the Air India plane, It comes hours after the Government of Canada expelled the Indian ambassadorSanjay Kumar Verma, and five other diplomats from the Asian country, for being related to a criminal network involved in the murder of an Indian dissident in Canadian territory, as well as for other criminal acts.
In retaliation for the six expulsions, India took the same action against the Canadian ambassador in New Delhi and five other diplomats from the North American country.
