In the first cut of incidents provided this Saturday by the city council of Zapopan for the Pilgrimage 2024 of the VirginMiguel Ricardo Ochoa Plascencia, general director of the OPD Health Services, reported that from 4:00 p.m. yesterday until 8:00 a.m. this Saturday, 35 medical services have been provided.
All the incidents, he assured, have been “minor” because they are minor situations.
“35 people have been treated for dehydration or falls, and we do ask people to come and be well hydrated during their journey,” he asserted.
In total, 180 people participate in the OPD Health Services and four ambulances are strategically located along the route in Zapopan “for a timely response.”
On the other hand, María Gómez Rueda, coordinator of Community Construction of the Zapopan city council, assured that, at the moment, no incident has been recorded.
“We have around 605 businesses installed and 115 amusement rides. Six seizure reports have been drawn up by Inspection and Surveillance. The most important thing of all is that “Up to now, a white balance has been recorded and no incidents have occurred,” the coordinator detailed.
In total, there are 2,868 elements from various areas of the municipality, including the Public Security Police Station, the Municipal Civil Protection and Firefighters Unit, as well as Health Services and the DIF System, among others, who guard this Pilgrimage in Zapopan.
He added, the Zapopan government installed 335 portable toilets and has more than 100 units deployed along the almost two kilometers of route that covers the municipality.
For his part, Roberto López Macías, General Commissioner of Public Security, confirmed that in addition to the 1,650 elements on the ground, there are surveillance and monitoring operations through the C5 system, as well as with drones, and a white balance is also reported.
“We are having three security circles to receive all the pilgrims who have been arriving since six in the morning. We continue to monitor C5 with drone surveillance, the arrival of the Virgin towards the municipality is being monitored with drones. Until now, we have not had any incident in terms of security, we have supported some citizens who have requested it to direct them to medical care points,” added the commissioner.
Mario Alberto Espinosa Ceballos, municipal coordinator of Civil Protection and Firefighters from Zapopan, confirmed that they have carried out 1,253 reviews of businesses and amusement rides to verify that they comply with safety standards.
Among the recommendations made by the authorities, they include not stopping medications, attending with comfortable clothing and well hydrated, as well as placing a badge or badge on girls and boys.
The Guadalajara city council, for its part, reported that there were no incidents in the municipality.
