The case of the suicide of Lindsay, 13 years old, emblematic of school bullying, had reached the Ministry of National Education. The content of the letter stirred public opinion a little over a year ago. It read: “I am sorry for having done that but I could no longer take the insults morning and evening, the mockery, the threats. » This handwritten farewell letter, attributed at the time to Lindsay, was in reality written by “her best friend” according to revelations made by Le Parisien.
A graphologist, commissioned by the investigating judge, compared the writings of Lindsay, a schoolgirl from Vendin-le-Vieil (Pas-de-Calais), and her best friend. It “formally” establishes that the author of the letter is indeed the second.
Discovered under Lindsay’s mattress three months before her suicide, it was handed over to the police by the teenager’s stepfather. A passage from this letter also referred to this friend: It was mentioned “We must be careful of her and what could happen to her. »
The lawyer for Lindsay’s family, very “surprised” by this news, adds that “this does not call into question the harassment of which Lindsay was a victim. The lawyer tells Le Parisien that “we should not draw hasty conclusions about the circumstances of the writing of this letter”. According to information from Le Figaro, the friend in question should be heard soon.
