Seine-et-Marne has not finished with the Kirk depression. If recessions are expected almost everywhere in France, the Ile-de-France department remains on red alert this Friday and flood peaks are expected according to the prefecture.
Several municipalities, such as Crécy-la-Chapelle, still have their feet in the water at midday and the water continues to rise in certain municipalities such as Condé-Sainte-Libiaire or Couilly-Pont-aux-Dames.
180 people evacuated
The 2016 flood thresholds were reached or exceeded on the Grand Morin, a tributary of the Marne, which burst its banks yesterday, forcing the gendarmes and firefighters of Seine-et-Marne to evacuate nearly 180 residents of the commune of Crécy-la-Chapelle according to our colleagues at BFMTV.
These residents “did not necessarily want to stay in the gymnasium which was opened, they left to be with family, neighbors, friends”, specified the mayor of the town, Christine Autenzio, this Thursday evening. While some residents made the decision to leave, others remained on the upper floors of their homes.
