Star singer Taylor Swift has donated US$5 million to help victims of hurricanes Helene and Milton, according to an announcement from the charity Feeding America.
“Thank you, Taylor, for supporting us in the movement to end hunger and helping communities in need,” the nonprofit said in a statement on social media.
“This contribution will help communities rebuild and recover, providing essential food, clean water and supplies to those affected by these devastating storms,” Feeding America continued.
Thursday morning, “Milton”, which weakened to return to category 1, saw the wind speed slow down to 130 km/h, while the hurricane caused torrential rains in the northern and eastern regions of the Florida, between 200 and 350 millimeters of rain.
