► The summary of the episode:
On October 7, 2023, Hamas fighters – the Palestinian Islamist movement – attacked Israel by surprise. More than 1,140 people were killed, the majority civilians, and at least 240 people taken hostage. In retaliation, the Jewish state decreed, on October 9, a “complete siege” of the Gaza Strip, where 2.3 million Palestinians live. Vinciane Joly, journalist at The Cross, then contacted Ahmad, who lives in this landlocked territory between Egypt and Israel. Through WhatsApp messages, he will tell her how he and his family try to survive under the bombs.
