The Boeing B-767 plane, operated by the Chilean Armed Forces, in coordination with the Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs, arrived around noon at the Padahuel military base, in Santiago, the Chilean capital, with 67 people, mostly Chileans. . Among the travelers were also ten Peruvian and seven Argentine citizens, reported the Chilean Foreign Ministry.
The aircraft had taken off on Sunday afternoon from Santiago with a load of humanitarian aid sent to Beirut. The contributions from the government of President Gabriel Boric and the Lebanese community in Chile included, above all, medicines and medical supplies.
Among the ten Peruvian citizens evacuated are four children and a pregnant woman. After their arrival in the Chilean capital this morning, they will all be repatriated to Peru on a commercial flight, indicated the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
