The European deputy, figure of the French extreme right, Marion Maréchal, announced this Monday the creation of her political party, in the pages of Figaro. This political movement, entitled “Identity-Freedom” will aim to “work towards a coalition alongside Marine Le Pen, Jordan Bardella and Éric Ciotti”, she explained to the newspaper this Monday.
“In this coalition, I want to carry the voice of a civilizational right which is at the same time anti-woke, anti-welfare and anti-tax racketeering by breaking with the “mental socialism” which has guided public accounts for too long. To convince as many French people as possible, we will be stronger with three than with two,” she claims, believing that she is part of the “national camp”.
Support for Marine Le Pen
Marion Maréchal believes that her aunt, Marine Le Pen, whose name she publicly bore until 2017, is the “legitimate candidate of the national camp” because, according to her, “it is the French who tell us that the RN must be the heart of this coalition by having placed it as the leading party in France. She therefore announces that she will “support” her during the next presidential election, in 2027, while she had supported Éric Zemmour in 2022.
Before this political deadline, Marion Maréchal hopes to “build”, with her aunt, a “majority in the National Assembly in which the civilizational right is represented”. “Our country desperately needs a right that does not look down on the left,” she believes. Among her favorite themes, the MEP mentions “the drastic reduction of immigration”, “the refusal of Islamization”, “the affirmation of our Christian heritage” but also “academic freedom, by assuming to defend a greater place given to the private alongside the public.”
