Not only that, the government also stated that it had made various preparations to build a PDN (National Data Center) in Batam. This was stated by the Minister of Communication and Information (Communication and Information) Budi Arie Setiadi.
According to the Minister of Communication and Information, the government is currently reviewing environmental and security aspects for facility locations that will support the implementation of SPBE (Electronic Based Government System).
“There are a lot of preparations so that the construction of the National Data Center can run well. Especially in Batam,” said the Minister of Communication and Information as quoted in a press release, Monday (30/9/2024), after a coordination meeting at the Ministry of Political, Legal and Security Affairs Office.
The Minister of Communication and Information said that the study process was carried out to make PDN more reliable. Therefore, all preparations, including environment and security, need to be taken into account.
Apart from that, Deputy Minister of Communication and Information Nezar Patria said that the review of PDN development in Batam was carried out to accelerate the ongoing process. He said that the development of PDN Batam is still in the early stages.
“This is nothing, this is still empty land, PDN over there in Batam. If the target is still three years away, because this is still in the early stages. This depends on how our cooperation with Korea is,” he said.
He also emphasized that development in Batam requires collaboration and coordination with various agencies in order to accelerate PDN development.
