Microsoft explains that sessions Copilot Vision is opt-in and temporary, so data is not saved for AI training. Everything will be deleted after the session is finished, and this feature only works on a number of popular sites.
Additionally, Copilot only “reads” the images and text you see, does not analyze the content in more depth.
After the Recall problem caused a stir, Microsoft really needs to rebuild user trust. Pavan Davuluri, head of Windows at Microsoft, said the company had taken extra steps to ensure security and privacy, especially for features that involve sensitive data.
Apart from the controversial features, there are also more relaxed features. Copilot Daily will use Copilot Voice to provide a summary of news, weather and perhaps daily task reminders, much like a morning podcast just for you.
Copilot Discover I will give you tips about AI features that you can use, according to Microsoft services that you have used before.
While these features are interesting, there are still concerns about security and privacy. Plus, Microsoft still relies heavily on technology from OpenAI, which can sometimes make results less accurate.
Nevertheless, Microsoft continues to strive to prove that it can provide AI that is safe and reliable.
The release of these new features is also not all at once. Copilot Voice and Daily are available, but the new Voice can be used in English in the US, Canada, Australia, UK and New Zealand.
Copilot Daily currently only works in the US and UK. The Copilot Vision feature will be coming to Labs in the next few days for select Copilot Pro customers, while Think Deeper is available for Pro users in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
