One capsizes, the other sinks. President Emmanuel Macron’s confidence rating has lost three points in one month to stand at 22%, a record. That of Michel Barnier shows the same decline since only 28% of French people place their trust in the new Prime Minister, according to an Elabe poll published Thursday.
According to the barometer created for daily life Les Echoswhich measures “confidence” in the executive “to confront the main problems facing the country”, this is the lowest score for the Head of State since his accession to the Elysée in 2017.
Edouard Philippe in the lead
The confidence given by Emmanuel Macron’s voters in the first round of the 2022 presidential election has, moreover, never been so low, standing at 61% (-4 points).
In the ranking of personalities, Edouard Philippe returns to first place (41%, -2 points), ahead of Gabriel Attal, demoted to second with a sharp drop (39%, -5 points) and Jordan Bardella. Behind Marine Le Pen and Nicolas Sarkozy, Gérald Darmanin goes from fifth to sixth place at 28%, a drop of six points.
