Veronica is broadcasting today Sherlock Holmes (2009) out. In London, Sherlock Holmes (Downey Jr.) and his partner Dr. John Watson (Jude Law) serial killer Lord Blackwood (Mark Strong) who killed five women. Blackwood is sentenced to be hanged and Dr. Watson confirms his death. But did he really die?
It’s Tuesday Knives Out (2019) to see. Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) is found dead on his estate shortly after his 85th birthday. Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is asked to investigate. From Harlan’s dysfunctional family to his dedicated staff, Blanc searches through everything to unravel the truth behind Harlan’s untimely death. The film can now also be seen on Netflix and via Pathé Thuis.
Wednesday will be an Oscar winner Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) broadcast. Joel is stunned to discover that his girlfriend Clementine has had her memories of their tumultuous relationship erased. Out of desperation, he contracts the inventor of the process, Dr. Howard Mierzwaik, to have Clementine removed from his own memory. But as Joel’s memories gradually fade, he begins to rediscover their former passion. Deep in his brain, Joel tries to escape the procedure. While Dr. As Mierzwiak and his team chase him through the maze of his memories, it’s clear that Joel can’t get her out of his head.
On Thursday you’ll be watching Joaquin Phoenix Joker (2019) for the release of Joker: Folie à Deux (2024) this week. Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) hopes to become a comedian, but suffers from many mental illnesses, including one that causes him to laugh uncontrollably when he is nervous. Arthur’s mental state causes almost all people in society to reject and look down on him, even though all he wants is to be accepted by others. After being brutally beaten, Arthur’s life turns into a downward spiral of delusions, violence and anarchy.
It’s Friday’s turn Felon (2008). A father with a promising future loses everything he has when he accidentally kills a burglar. Convicted of involuntary manslaughter, he must spend the next three years in a maximum security prison where the rules of normal society no longer apply.
Saturday is celebrated with Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011). After a year as a dragon warrior, the obese but fearless Po (Black) is a hero in China, along with Crane (Cross), Mantis (Rogen), Monkey (Chan), Viper (Liu), Tigress (Jolie) and Shifu (Hoffman). But trouble arises when villain Shen (Oldman) causes chaos. Everyone is ready to fight, but Po is unprepared when he learns that Shen was his enemy when he was young.
Net 5 ends the week with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2001). On his eleventh birthday, Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) discovers that he is no ordinary boy. Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane) tells Harry that he is a wizard and has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
