Even though Apple was not involved in the funding round, OpenAI still has full support from two other technology giants, Microsoft and Nvidia.
Microsoft is rumored to be injecting additional funds of USD 1 billion in this funding round, continuing their commitment to AI development.
Previously, this Redmond-based technology giant had invested more than USD 13 billion in the company formed by Sam Altman.
Thanks to that major investment, Microsoft can now integrate ChatGPT AI models into its artificial intelligence services, including products like Copilot.
Meanwhile, Nvidia, known as a leader in AI hardware technology, will also be one of the main investors in this funding round.
