Previously, Google had just released the newest lineup of the Pixel series, namely Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL on the market.
However, there is one thing that may surprise fans: these three phones do not come with Android 15.
Even though it appears as the newest cellphone, Google is still using Android 14, the OS first launched with the Pixel 8 3 years ago.
This news may be disappointing for those who were looking forward to being able to immediately taste the new features in Android 15 when buying the Pixel 9 series.
Previously, rumors circulated that Google would launch the Android 15 update next month. However, this plan had to be postponed because the new OS was still not completely stable.
So, when will Android 15 be released to Pixel devices? Quoting Android Authority, Tuesday (27/8/2024), the company plans to roll out the Android 15 update in October 2024.
This Mountain View-based company usually releases Android updates at the same time as the OS source code is made available to the public.
However, keep in mind that this launch schedule could change at any time if Google finds significant bugs or if the Android OS is still deemed unstable for widespread use.
