President Andrés Manuel López Obrador formally presented the agreement between the federal government and the National Minimum Wage Commission (CONASAMI) with representatives of the labor and business sector, to increase the general, professional and northern border minimum wage by 20%. , starting in January 2024.

In his morning conference today, the president reiterated that he considers the agreement “historic” and “truly important,” since it was achieved by consensus with the labor, business and public sectors.
López Obrador affirmed that the agreement will benefit millions of workers throughout the country and recognized the work of Marath Bolaños López, as Secretary of Labor and Social Security, as well as Luis Felipe Munguía Corella, as head of CONSAMI.

The Secretary of Labor explained that with the increase, the general minimum wage will be 248.93 pesos per day, that is, 7,572 pesos, while on the northern border it will be 374.89 pesos per day, equivalent to 11,403 pesos per month.
