Since 2012, terrorist attacks have caused the deaths of 272 people and left many people injured. Furthermore, 74 attacks were foiled, according to the latest count from the General Directorate of Internal Security (DGSI) published on November 29.
Around 5,200 people are known to have been radicalized in France, of which 1,600 people are particularly monitored by the DGSI. Among them, 20% have psychiatric disorders.
Four hundred people are currently incarcerated for acts of terrorism and more than 470 individuals who were detained in connection with this charge have been released since mid-2018.
