In the third quarter, turnover in the car and motorcycle sector increased considerably less than in the second quarter.
Statistics agency CBS has calculated this. This concerns a turnover increase of 10.4 percent in July, August and September compared to a year earlier, compared to a turnover increase of 33.7 percent in the second quarter.
According to Statistics Netherlands, the lower turnover increase is due to outstanding orders in the second quarter that have now been cleared. The growth in sales of electric vehicles was also no longer so great in the third quarter.
The largest increase in turnover was achieved by car dealers and repairers. Turnover in motorcycle trade and repair fell by 13.3 percent.
The labor market in the industry is also tense. Half of the companies said they had a labor shortage at the beginning of October. A quarter earlier this was slightly less. However, the number of vacancies decreased by 400 to 8,900.
