Singer Carlos ‘Tomate’ Barraza has filed a lawsuit against his ex-partner Vanessa López in which he demands joint custody of their four-year-old daughter. López was surprised and opposed to this request during her appearance on the program ‘Magaly TV: La Firme’, on November 27, where she expressed her concern about the emotional impact that the situation could have on the minor.

In the midst of the conflict, Vanessa López argued that she is the one who spends the most time with her daughter, taking care of her and attending to her, while Barraza dedicates herself to her musical career. She claims that the four-year-old girl has been reluctant to spend time with her father, whom López describes as someone who surrounds himself with strangers. Therefore, she considers the request to share ownership unfair.
“For me it is a surprise. He is not the one who takes care of her, he just picks her up, takes her and leaves her with her mother or her nanny. Who is going to take care of her better than me, who is her mother. I couldn’t allow Carlos to take her because he, through his orchestra, has friends around him that I don’t know, you don’t know what can happen,” commented the model in front of Magaly Medina.

“I am a good mother, I am not a drug addict, I am not an alcoholic, I am not a prostitute, he can comply with his visitation regime,” López questioned.
Despite the previous problems, the dispute has escalated with the lawsuit filed by Barraza. Vanessa López has criticized his father figure and has suggested that her role in her daughter’s life has been minimal. She has also mentioned that the current situation could prevent the girl from receiving the appropriate therapy – in López’s words – necessary for her development.
“I will no longer be able to send her to therapy, everything I advance with my daughter, he makes me go backwards, all the work I do with her, the therapies, that she pays attention, that she is not so hyperactive, that she understands that she has two homes… .(it is in vain)” he added.

Magaly Medina, host of the program, suggested that López use a Gesell camera and the assistance of a specialized psychologist to understand why the four-year-old girl cries desperately when ‘Tomate’ goes to pick her up. “He sleeps all day after a concert that’s why my daughter doesn’t want to go with him,” the model mentioned.

“He who has so many people who work in his orchestras, men above all, misfortunes happen in minutes. “My daughter cannot and will never live with Carlos,” she stated.
Finally, López made a strong request to other women, warning about the consequences of having a child with Carlos ‘Tomate’ Barraza, suggesting that they refrain from doing so and claiming that her own experience has been negative.

“No one on this planet has a child with Tomate Barraza because they are going to live hell, get a vasectomy at once,” he said. The controversy remains pending a judicial resolution that determines the custody of their daughter.
