The Government has valued the internal changes in the PP made by Alberto Núñez Feijóo and has desired a “constructive opposition” during the current legislature. Among them, the appointment of Miguel Tellado as spokesperson in Congress stands out, replacing Cuca Gamarra, who remains general secretary of the party. “I congratulate the new spokesperson and I hope that Tellado is willing to work with a constructive attitude. If one reaches into his newspaper library, there are few signs to be optimistic, but we must not lose hope,” said the minister spokesperson, Pilar Alegría.
In the press conference after the Council of Ministers, the head of Education and Sports brought up “insults and profanities” promoted by members of the PP, such as Tellado himself (she said that Sánchez should “leave this country in a trunk” ) or the president of the Community of Madrid and the party in the region, Isabel Díaz Ayuso. Along these lines, Alegría has launched a response message in clear allusion to Ayuso’s words during the investiture of Pedro Sánchez, who from the guest gallery gave him a “son of a bitch”, but then ironically said that he had said “I I like fruit” and did not apologize.

“Tellado or Ayuso have said insults and profanities, but when one dehumanizes like this, especially the President of the Government, one has to think about whether those are the principles and values that we want to transmit to our children. Are these the values of respect and coexistence that we want to transfer to our society? On the part of this Government, we are not going to lose our calm nor are we going to go down that path of insults and tension. Because it is not our style, and because we are not going to feed society with that rotten fruit,” he added from Moncloa.
Ayuso also spoke in another part of the press conference when asked about the Madrid president’s anger at not being invited to the inauguration of the AVE to Asturias, a supposed “veto” to which the Community of Madrid has responded with a threat to “never” invite members of Pedro Sánchez’s Government from now on.

Thus, Alegría explained that the criteria used for the inauguration of this high-speed section is the one that “has always been used.” “50 km are being launched that affect Castilla y León, and Asturias, and both presidents are invited,” said the minister spokesperson, in addition to calling on Ayuso to “focus her efforts on explaining her policies to the people of Madrid,” that is, , has urged him to account for “why the price of school cafeterias has increased” or the repeal “through the back door” of the trans and LGTBI laws of the Community of Madrid.
