Jennifer Lawrence has dismissed online rumors that she had undergone platelet surgery. Skeptical followers have recently come up with photos of the Hunger Games star in her teens, using them as ‘proof’ that the actress must have stepped into the operating chair in the meantime. In a conversation with television personality Kylie Jenner, Lawrence explains how she believes the external changes can be explained in reality.
The ‘internet trap’ rumors that Lawrence had undergone plastic surgery have undoubtedly not reached every film lover, but the actress herself certainly took note of them. In a conversation with Kylie Jenner, which was published in Interview, she does not mince her words and explains what changes people actually notice:
It’s amazing what make-up can do because I work with Hungh (Vanngo, ed.), who creates a ‘lip line’ just over the natural lip line (‘overlining’, ed.), and I call him a plastic surgeon because everyone with whom I have been working in recent months, is convinced that I have had eye surgery (…) I then say that that is not the case at all, but that I just use make-up
Lawrence accuses skeptical followers of drawing simplistic conclusions based on “old” and “new” photos (the actress started when she was 19 and is now 30). “I just grew up,” she says. “I’ve lost some ‘baby weight’ in my face, and my face is changing as I get older. Everyone also thought I had a ‘nose job,’ and then I also think, ‘I have the exact same nose. “My cheek is just a bit smaller now. Thanks for coming with it.”

Approval from Jenner
Lawrence can count on support from Jenner, who indicates that she has had ‘a similar experience’. “The only difference is that I ended up getting lip fillers myself,” she adds.
Outgrew the franchise
For Lawrence, getting older also means no longer being the star of the Hunger Games franchise; in the brand new prequel The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (2023), which is currently doing extremely well at the box office, stars Rachel Zegler as the female lead. Lawrence was seen in the controversial comedy film this year No Hard Feelings (2023).
