Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Gaza Strip on Sunday. He met soldiers there and walked through a tunnel said to have been dug by Hamas.
During his visit, Netanyahu mentioned three of Israel’s war targets. “Eliminate Hamas, recover all our hostages and ensure that Gaza does not pose a threat to the State of Israel again.” The prime minister did not elaborate on how Israel plans to achieve the latter goal.
“We are convinced that we have the strength, power, will and determination to achieve all the goals of the war,” he said in part. “We will continue until victory.”
On Sunday evening, Netanyahu will have a telephone conversation with US President Joe Biden. White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said this in an interview with the American TV channel CBS.
