This Thursday, the German police carried out searches of homes of people close to Hamas and other anti-Israel organizations such as the now banned Samidoun in at least four federal states.
According to the magazine “Der Spiegel”, the targets of the authorities are officials of the self-proclaimed Palestinian Community in Germany (PGD), considered by security agencies to be the most important organization for Hamas in Germany.
The objective of the measures coordinated by the Ministry of the Interior is to reveal the infrastructure that Hamas has in Germany, as well as to seize money and material.
According to the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, the hard core of Hamas supporters in Germany numbers 450 members.
The homes of members of the anti-Israel and anti-Semitic Samidoun network were also searched during the morning. Samidoun is a network close to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, which since 2022 has been on the EU list of terrorist organizations.
After the attacks carried out by Hamas on October 7, which sparked the war in Gaza, there was a jubilant demonstration in the Berlin neighborhood of Neukoeln where Samidoun militants distributed sweets to people calling for the destruction of Israel.
