The book The Camino by Anya Niewierra is in the first place of the Bestseller 60. The author previously won the NS Audience Award.
The book about the war in the former Yugoslavia was released in 2021. At the time, the book reached seventh place on the Bestseller 60, the list of the best-selling books that the book association CPNB publishes weekly.
Niewierra won the NS Literature Prize last week. “I am honored and moved, but above all extremely grateful. Every prize is special, but winning an audience award is extra special. I am lucky with my readers, because thanks to them, The Camino has become the success it is today,” said the writer during the award ceremony.
The NS Audience Award has been awarded since 1987. The winner receives a sculpture by Jeroen Henneman and a cash prize of 7,500 euros. The book will be promoted on the screens in the NS trains in the week after the presentation.
