A few hours after the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) revealed after a 16-hour day who will be its candidates for the nine federal entities where there will be a government replacement, the mayor of Álvaro Obregón and who is a member of the National Action Party (PAN), Lía Limón published a video in which he made it clear that the only candidate the blue and white party had to lead Mexico City was Santiago Taboada since she would no longer seek to be a representative of the Broad Front for Mexico (FAM).

Through her account on the social network National Action, Institutional Revolutionary (PRI) and Democratic Revolution (PRD) parties would go with a man as a candidate to replace Martí Batres Guadarrama.
“I am an institutional woman and I know how to join in when I have to,” highlighted the senator.

In the message he published where he announced that he would no longer participate in the internal contest of the opposition alliance, Limón argued that in these times it is clear to him to join the unit, especially when they denied him the license to be absent from office, therefore, he insisted on that after heeding the call of Xóchitl Gálvez, presidential candidate for the FAM, he put aside personal interests and with this, joined the movement in the capital.
“Based on the decision that the PAN has made and being the party that allowed me to compete. For Álvaro Obregón, dear PAN members, dear Santiago, you are counting on me to fight this battle shoulder to shoulder and with all my strength. The appointment of Taboada was given, according to what was stated by Kenia López, through a survey that showed that the aforementioned is the one who has the greatest acceptance and, therefore, was considered the strongest letter for this internal process in where the Broad Front for Mexico must define the official candidacy between the PAN member and Adrián Rubalcava Suárez, mayor of Cuajimalpa and who is part of the PRI bench.

The national leader of the PAN, Marko Cortés, published a video on social networks in which he recognized the work of the candidates for the government of Mexico City after having declined in favor of the mayor with a license from Benito Juárez.

After naming one by one the PAN members who raised their hands to be candidates, Cortés applauded that all of them were committed to unity, which is why he opened his message with the phrase “How proud to be a PAN member”; However, he also insisted that it will be thanks to the work carried out by Taboada that not only will the Mexican capital be won, but Xóchitl Gálvez would also be the one to sweep the elections during the 2024 election day.
