An elderly person had to be transferred to the Trauma Hospital in Asunción, the publication added.
“Unfortunately, the death of a minor is confirmed,” added the Health office, which cited reports from the Second Health Region prepared from people treated at the San Estanislao District Hospital.
For its part, the National Police reported on the same social network that its officials intervened to support the care of those affected by the storm.
According to the Police, in the Compañía Guaica area of San Estanislao “several homes” suffered damage as a result of the heavy rain with gusts of wind.
Police indicated that a 13-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy suffered injuries.
On Saturday, an octogenarian woman lost her life after her home in the town of Mbocayaty del Yhaguy, in the department of Cordillera, was left in the middle of strong winds produced by a tornado.

In the early hours of this Thursday, a flood caused by heavy rain swept away a vehicle with two soldiers who were heading towards the residence of the Army commander, General César Augusto Moreno, in Lambaré, a city neighboring Asunción.
