René Le Blanc, known from the reality series I believe in me, has set his sights on a breakthrough in Germany. He has recorded a single in German, which entered the German charts this week.
The 54-year-old Le Blanc tells De Telegraaf that he received a call from George Baker Selection guitarist George Thé. At the beginning of this year, Thé read an interview with the singer in the same newspaper, in which he already hinted at his international plans.
Thé, who worked with Jan Smit in Germany, among others, was happy to help Le Blanc. “He honestly stated: it is not tomorrow and not the day after,” says Le Blanc. “We are going to draw up a whole plan, so that we are sure that everything is correct.”
According to the Arnhemmer, “a three-year plan” is now ready, including three German-language songs. “Fortunately, there have been no complaints about my German accent yet. Because it has to be good, and I’m on top of that myself.”
No hit success in the Netherlands
The first single Ich glaub noch immer an die Liebe entered the tenth place in the NDR Schlager chart this week. “You know, this man, with his blow-dried hair, is going to Germany where a grand plan is ready,” Le Blanc says about himself.
“And if I join the list with Rudi Carrell, Linda de Mol, Frans Bauer, Jan Smit and Chantal Janzen, I am the smiling third. The first signs are good.”
In the Netherlands, Le Blanc is known for the song If I Tell You, although it did not go further than the tip parade in the charts.
