Xavi Simons helped RB Leipzig win against Red Star in the Champions League on Wednesday with an assist and a goal: 3-1. Donyell Malen won with Borussia Dortmund against Newcastle United, while Tijjani Reijnders lost with AC Milan at Paris Saint-Germain.
Simons made a big impression in his first months for Leipzig and the Dutch international also made his mark against Red Star. Within fifteen minutes the attacker made his mark by setting up David Raum: 1-0.
In the second half Simons doubled the lead with a beautiful move. The loanee from Paris Saint-Germain dribbled in and shot beautifully into the top corner. Fifteen minutes before the end, Simons was substituted for Dani Olmo, who scored for the 3-1. Marko Stamenic had scored in between for Red Star.
With the victory, Leipzig is already close to a place in the knockout phase. The German club is three points behind Manchester City in group G, which won 1-3 at Young Boys. Erling Haaland was the big man with two goals. Nathan Aké played the entire match for City.

Mbappé introduces PSG’s victory over Milan
It was again Mbappé who helped PSG over the dead center. After a nice action by seventeen-year-old Warren Zaire-Emery, it was Mbappé’s turn, who crowned a dribble with a successful slider.
PSG cruised to a comfortable victory in the second half thanks to goals from Randal Kolo Muani and Kang-In Lee. Reijnders played the entire match in the Parc des Princes.
Dortmund did good business in the same group by winning 0-1 at Newcastle. Felix Nmecha became the match winner with his goal just before half time. Malen was substituted fifteen minutes before time. Sven Botman was missing from Newcastle due to a knee injury.
