At least twenty people have been killed in a bus accident near Venice. This was reported by the mayor of the Italian city. About forty people are said to have been injured.
The full bus fell 15 meters from a viaduct, landed on a railway line and caught fire. Mayor Brugnaro speaks of an “apocalyptic scene”.
The accident happened on the road near Mestre, on the north side of the city, when the bus pulled into a driveway. The cause of the accident is not yet known.
