Belfius increases basic interest and fidelity premium on savings accounts

Belfius will increase the basic interest rate and fidelity premium on savings accounts on November 1. The major bank reported this in a press release on Monday.

The basic interest rate on the regular savings account will increase from 0.45 percent to 0.55 percent, and the fidelity premium will also increase from 0.45 percent to 0.55 percent. For the Belfius Fidelity savings account, the basic interest rate increases from 0.2 percent to 0.25 percent and the fidelity premium from 1.05 percent to 1.75 percent.

For deposits made before November 1, 2023, the old fidelity premium still applies. The fidelity premium is only acquired for amounts that remain uninterrupted in the regulated savings account for 12 months after deposit.
