Fans of True Detective (2014– ) can finally circle a day in their calendar: HBO Max today finally announces the release date of the long-awaited fourth season with a brand new teaser.

The new season of the anthology series, which means that each season tells its own story, is titled Night Country and this time stars Jodie Foster. She plays detective Liz Danvers, who gets to the bottom of a mystery surrounding a research station in Alaska. Together with detective Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis), they must face the darkness and dig into the ghostly truths hidden beneath the ice…
Postponed
The fourth season was originally scheduled to start this year, but HBO Max announced in early September that it would postpone it until next year. The streaming service did not give a reason, but it could well have had to do with the ongoing strikes in Hollywood. The new season now has a release date.
