The median prices for real estate in Belgium fell slightly in the second quarter of 2023. This is evident from figures from statistics agency Statbel. Apartments are an exception, which became slightly more expensive.
For a house in a closed or semi-detached development, the median price in the second quarter was 257,500 euros. In the first quarter this was still 260,000 euros. €360,000 was paid for an open-plan building, compared to €369,000 in the first three months of the year. The median price for an apartment was 239,000 euros, while in the first quarter it was still 235,000 euros.
The median price for closed and semi-detached buildings fell in all regions, while that for open buildings only fell in Flanders. The Brussels Capital Region and the Walloon Region both showed an increase. In Brussels even from 845,000 euros to 940,000 euros. Finally, apartments became slightly more expensive in Flanders and Brussels, while in Wallonia there was a modest price drop.
