As part of the 34th Capital Market Symposium organized by Asobancaria, former Minister of Finance José Antonio Ocampo asked the Government of Gustavo Petro, of which he was a part until recently, to increase the price of tolls nationwide, which were frozen by 2023.

The former official made this request as an alternative to finance the gasoline subsidy for taxi drivers that the Government will provide as an agreement to meet the costs they are assuming.
What Ocampo is concerned about is that the resources from the Fuel Price Stabilization Fund or the 2024 General Budget of the Nation will be used to finance the subsidy.
