Ear pizzas and torreznos at the Cocituber bar
Pizza is one of the most loved dishes around the world. Of Italian origin, this round and crunchy dough can contain all kinds of ingredients, from the most common ones like tomato and cheese to the craziest and most original ones. Leaving aside the more traditional options, some bars and restaurants choose to go off the beaten path and offer unorthodox options, creating pizzas that would make any Italian cringe.
Good examples of this are the pizzas served at Los Clásicos de Cocituber, a gastronomic space created by the influencer @cocituber, called in ‘real life’ Alfonso Ortega. With more than 170,000 followers on TikTok, 196,000 on Instagram and as many thousands on YouTube and Facebook, the content creator is one of the best known in the world of ‘gocha’ food, a fame that was born thanks to recommending neighborhood establishments. , places where you can have good and cheap tapas outside the beaten center of Madrid.

After a few years of absolute success on social networks, thanks to his viral videos with recommendations of bars and restaurants, this content creator wanted to jump into the world of restaurants with a unique project. At the end of 2022 he opened his first business in the Madrid neighborhood of Vallecas, Los Clásicos del Cocituber, a tapas bar with the most classic recipes of the typical neighborhood establishment: patatas bravas, calamari, ear, croquettes…
The appeal of its successful social networks and the attractiveness of its prices and decoration quickly took effect. This first Vallecano location became too small, and Alfonso then decided to open its second headquarters, just a few meters away: Los Clásicos de Cocituber 2. But it didn’t stop there. Not content with his two successes in the neighborhood, the influencer wanted to expand the business to the outskirts of the capital, to a municipality outside the hustle and bustle of the center of Madrid. It was then when he opened his doors Los Clásicos de Cocituber 3, in Alcobendas.

It is there, only at the Alcobendas location, where you can try these curious pizzas, preparations with the most curious ingredients that leave anyone full. The first of them is a tomato, mozzarella and grilled ear pizza, accompanied by a garlic and parsley sauce, brava sauce and a little oregano. The second option, just as striking and ‘gocha’, is the torrezno pizza, made with tomato, mozzarella, torrezno de Soria and a little chimichurri. Both have a price of 16 euros and, from what the ‘gastroinfluencers’ who have tried it say, it is enough to eat two people.
Although these pizzas are one of the most attention-grabbing options on their menu, in reality the menu is very varied. In fact, the absolute specialty of the house is the stew, which is no longer served in hot weather to make room for other best sellers such as grilled ear tapa with homemade potatoes and brava sauce. Andalusian-style squid, ham croquettes, oxtail and carabineros or Asturian cachopo from Cabrales are other safe bets. The average price per person is 25 euros.
The decoration is another of the most striking characteristics of this successful business. The tables and walls are full of old comics, posters of film classics, paintings of great Spanish comedians… The menu is found within children’s stories and comics such as Teo, Mortadelo y Filemón or The Little Mermaid. The bill arrives on a VHS cover like the one from the movie Titanic.
