It’s a scene that almost turned into a tragedy: a stroller carrying a 1-month-old baby fell into a port on the French island of Corsica on Thursday.
The accident occurred around 3 p.m. at the marina in the municipality of Saint-Florent, in Haute-Corse, according to what the France 3 channel reported.
The baby was quickly recovered by his father who jumped into the water without thinking to bring him back to dry land, firefighters from the Fire and Rescue Service said.
Although he was out of danger, the victim was treated by a team of emergency doctors and transferred to a hospital center as a precaution.
A similar event occurred on September 6, when a 4-month-old baby in his stroller fell into a river in Pas-de-Calais, in the north of France.
The baby’s mother who jumped into the water to save him was trapped by the mud, but firefighters arrived just in time to bring the two victims out of the water.
