Pensión 65: older adults in Iquitos receive debit cards to avoid lines at the Banco de la Nación

Less than a month has passed since the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (Midis) reported that Pensión 65 users would receive debit cards to collect at the different correspondent agents of the Banco de la Nación. In this regard, Julio Mendigure Fernández, who serves as executive director of Pensión 65, declared that the social program’s mission is to promote financial inclusion, first, with the opening of bank accounts and, second, with the massive delivery of cards to its residents. users. Thus, Midis aims to bring financial services closer to people in vulnerable situations who otherwise would not be able to make the payment due to them or the process would be difficult for them. “In addition, this helps boost the local economy,” added the official.

One of the immediate impacts that older adults obtain when receiving their debit card is that they can collect their bimonthly subsidies at any warehouse, pharmacy or correspondent agent of the Banco de la Nación.

An additional element and which is, in fact, one of the reasons for adopting such a modality, since it helps to modernize financial processes and integration, is that one has the possibility of accessing other financial services, including withdrawal and money transfers to other accounts at any time.
