Internazionale started the Champions League on Wednesday with a draw. The team of Denzel Dumfries and Stefan de Vrij drew 1-1 at Real Sociedad thanks to a goal in the final phase. Real Madrid won thanks to a goal in injury time.
Inter fell behind against Real Sociedad after just four minutes. Brais Méndez took advantage of a fumble by Alessandro Bastoni, who lost the ball on the edge of the box.
Halfway through the second half, Inter seemed to have to play with ten men when Nicolò Barella was sent off. But after VAR intervention, the red card was reversed.
Inter seemed to start the Champions League with a defeat, but in the final phase Lautaro Martínez helped the Italians get a point.
In the same group, Red Bull Salzburg won 0-2 at Benfica. Roko Simic (penalty) and Oscar Gloukh were accurate on behalf of the Austrians, for which Karim Konaté missed a penalty in the opening phase. Benfica played with ten men from the thirteenth minute onwards due to a red card for António Silva.

Real Madrid at the last minute past Union Berlin
Earlier in the day, Real Madrid won 1-0 against Union Berlin thanks to a late goal. ‘De Koninklijke’ had quite a few chances, but the Germans held out well for a long time. In the second half the home team hit the post twice. First Rodrygo hit the aluminum with a half bicycle kick and then Joselu headed onto the post.
The match seemed to be heading for a draw, but in the fourth minute of injury time, Jude Bellingham gave Real the three points. The Englishman tapped in from close range after a long shot from Federico Valverde found him via the Union defense.
At Union Berlin, Danilho Doekhi and captain Sheraldo Becker both had a starting place. Doekhi formed the central defense duo with the Italian veteran Leonardo Bonucci.
