Lutsharel Geertruida and Santiago Giménez will be in the starting line-up for Feyenoord on Saturday for the Eredivisie match against SC Heerenveen in De Kuip. Geertruida has recovered from an injury, while Giménez briefly suffered from jet lag.

Geertruida played the entire match last Thursday against the Netherlands-Greece (3-0 win), but was missing against Ireland on Sunday (1-2 win). The defender has been found fit again and is forming a defense with Gernot Trauner, Dávid Hancko and Quilindschy Hartman.
Mats Wieffer, Quinten Timber and Calvin Stengs are in midfield, while trainer Arne Slot opts for Giménez up front. The Mexican suffered from jet lag after his international matches with Mexico. The striker is flanked against Heerenveen by Igor Paixão and Luka Ivanusec.
Feyenoord’s line-up has made no changes compared to the 1-5 win over FC Utrecht two weeks ago. Bart Nieuwkoop suffered an injury during training and, like the injured Ayase Ueda, is missing from the match selection. Goalkeeper Justin Bijlow, who has been injured for some time, is also absent.
Upcoming matches Feyenoord:
Eredivisie: Feyenoord-sc Heerenveen, September 16 Champions League: Feyenoord-Celtic, September 19 Eredivisie: Ajax-Feyenoord, September 24 Eredivisie: Feyenoord-Go Ahead Eagles, September 30 Champions League: Atlético Madrid-Feyenoord, October 4
Feyenoord is also thinking about a duel with Celtic
Feyenoord is aiming for its third win in a row against Heerenveen. Slot’s team previously drew against Fortuna Sittard and Sparta Rotterdam, but then won against Almere City and FC Utrecht. Heerenveen lost the last matches with Sparta and Go Ahead Eagles.
The Rotterdam team will play the first match in the group stage of the Champions League against Celtic on Tuesday. The question is who will put Slot at the forefront. Giménez is serving a European suspension for his red card against AS Roma last season, while Ueda was injured during the international break with Japan.
The match between Feyenoord and Heerenveen in De Kuip starts at 4:30 PM and is led by referee Jeroen Manschot.
