Germany promises support for Ukraine on its path to the EU, but calls for more reforms in the country, especially in the fight against corruption
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock visits kyiv and promises support for Ukraine on its path to the EU, but calls for more reforms in the country, especially in the fight against corruption. Ukraine says it is willing to work with Germany to accelerate the shipment of long-range Taurus missiles.
“Because on the path to the EU, Ukraine can already show remarkable things, whether in media legislation or judicial reform. The fight against corruption is a particularly big challenge,” said Baerbock during his visit.
Chancellor Olaf Scholz has stopped sending missiles to Ukraine and has reportedly asked for technical modifications to the rockets to ensure that the Ukrainian military cannot use them to attack Russian territory.
Baerbock further expressed his dismay at the forcible transfer of Ukrainian children to Russia. The head of German diplomacy announced that kyiv and Berlin will organize a new conference in Germany next year for the reconstruction of Ukraine.
