The head of European diplomacy brought several messages to the country that aspires to be a candidate for the EU, among them, that Georgia’s foreign policy should be in tune with Brussels.
For the Georgian prime minister, his country deserves candidate status. Georgia is undertaking some reforms, but the EU is asking its government for greater efforts.
The visit coincides with the 15th anniversary of the European Union Monitoring Mission, which observes the Russian occupation line established after the 2008 Russia-Georgia war.
Before leaving Georgia, Borrell personally visited the occupation line to observe the work carried out by the Mission.
