In 2016, Efraín Aguilar confirmed that the character of ‘Platanazo’ would be eliminated after 7 years, by decision of the scriptwriters when they saw that “he had no more contribution.”
“The way in which Efraín Aguilar communicated it to me was very crude. He called me on the phone to tell me that ‘he was just getting here’. Just like that, after so many years. If he had looked me in the eyes, shaken my hand and been grateful, I wouldn’t have any problems with him,” Thorsen expressed, at that time, in dialogue with ‘Hildebrandt in his thirteen’.
Christian Thorsen has spoken about the subject again in a recent interview with the newspaper Trome. The 59-year-old actor revealed that he won the lawsuit he filed for the economic damage caused by his departure from ‘Al Fondo Hay Sitio’. However, he did not specify whether the lawsuit was against the channel or against the producer.
“They wanted to save my land. And since we weren’t on the payroll, they could do whatever they wanted. However, thanks to the lawsuit that I filed against them and that I won, everything is fine now. Which makes me very happy (…) I knew they were going to take me out and, after eight months to go, they were going to call me because the scriptwriters wanted me to finish with ‘Charito’, Mónica Sánchez’s character,” she commented.
Gisela Valcárcel’s former model also spoke about the discomfort he experienced at the end of his participation in the series. He admitted that when he stopped enjoying her role, it didn’t cause him to be there anymore.
According to Christian Thorsen, Efraín Aguilar fired him abruptly and by phone in 2016.
“I have always thought that humor is not to laugh at others, but with others. And sometimes they did things that were to make fun of the character. I never liked that. So when they already exceeded that, I said ‘stop the car,’” she said.
In January 2023, the remembered producer of ‘Al Fondo Hay Sitio’ clarified that he has no problems with Christian Thorsen. and that the decision to return to play Raúl del Prado did not depend on him, but on Gigio Aranda, current director of the television series.

“We are very friends. Whatever personal problems he has with the company, I have no reason to interfere or give an opinion. They are all my children,” Efraín Aguilar commented to Infobae Perú.
The actor has been suffering from prostate cancer since June 2022 and confirmed that the doctors who gave him up to 50 months to live gave him up to 50 months to live. The popular ‘Platanazo’ did not want to undergo chemotherapy and is currently undergoing treatment with mistletoe, which – according to his words – has a medicine called anthroposophic.

“The doctor told me that what mistletoe does is stabilize your immune system. I mean, when he told me that I was the one who was going to fight cancer, I liked that. It wasn’t that a chemical was going to fight, but rather yourself and strengthening your immune system. That is what mistletoe does and it also fights against cancer cells,” he commented to the aforementioned medium.
Christian Thorsen pointed out that the prostate cancer he suffers from is possibly hereditary, since his father unfortunately died from this disease.
