Prince Harry and Meghan Markle bring a new series to Netflix: Heart of Invictus (2022). The Invictus Games docuseries follows the participants through their training, revealing powerful stories of resilience and hope along the way. Netflix has shared the trailer and release date.
For wounded soldiers
The Invictus Games is an international sporting event for military personnel and veterans who have been mentally or physically injured in the military. In 2014, Prince Harry founded the event as a way to highlight and celebrate veterans, as well as help them heal through the link between sport and mental health. Heart of Invictus is a five-part series that tells the inspiring stories of various athletes about their way to the Invictus Games in The Hague in 2020, the edition that has been moved to 2022. The docuseries also gives a glimpse into the work involved in the organizing the international event.
First collaboration
Heart of Invictus is directed by Orlando von Einsiedel who received an Oscar nomination in 2014 for Best Short Documentary with Virunga (2014), and won the same prize in 2017 with The White Helmets (2016). The series is produced by Archewell Productions, the production company founded by Harry and Meghan to produce programs that inform and inspire. Heart of Invictus is the first of many collaborations between Archewell Productions and Netflix.
