The Ukrainian Defense Ministry admits that the counteroffensive is progressing more slowly than desired and that this is due to Russia’s vast minefields and defensive lines.
Likewise, kyiv reported that during a night attack, Russian drones hit grain warehouses in the port of Reni, in the province of Odessa. However, this did not stop the first Ukrainian grain cargo ship to leave the port of Odessa on Wednesday for a new shipping route through the Bosphorus Strait.
An alternative that the Government of Ukraine is testing to avoid the current crisis of the grain export agreement with Russia.
“The Hong Kong-flagged container ship Joseph Schulte has left the port of Odessa and is sailing through the temporary corridor,” the Ministry of Reconstruction reported, according to the Ukrinform agency.
Moscow has intensified attacks in the Black Sea region since it refused last month to extend the deal, including attacks near the maritime border of NATO member Romania.
