Finally there is a full-fledged trailer of it The Continental (2023). The prequel series takes place in the same universe as the John Wick franchise and focuses on the infamous hotel chain, where criminals find a (temporary) haven under strict conditions.
The protagonist of the three-part series is a young Winston Scott (played by Ian McShane in the series), who tries to leave his past behind in 1970s New York. In order to eventually establish his throne in the iconic Continental Hotel, he will first have to find his way in the criminal underworld.
The increased popularity of the John Wick films seems to give The Continental a big boost in advance. On YouTube, fans are mostly enthusiastic about the new images, and X explodes especially on the few seconds in which actress Katie McGrath can be seen:
McGrath plays The Adjudicator, a High Table agent who appears in John Wick 3: Parabellum (2019) was played by Asia Kate Dillon. McGrath is best known to the general public as the interpreter of Lena Luthor in Supergirl (2015–2021). In the trailer images of the new prequel series, she wears a striking mask under the nose.
The Continental was originally produced for Starz, but the series transitioned to Peacock, which launched in 2020, last summer. This service is not accessible in the Netherlands, but it was previously announced that the episodes will also come to Prime Video internationally. That has to happen on 22 september. If we have more news about the release later, we’ll let you know.
