Big Hit Music, the label of BTS, announced on Monday (07 Aug 23) that the 30-year-old singer has started the enlistment process, giving fans time to take the brunt before the big day. .
“We would like to inform our fans that Suga has initiated the military service process by requesting the termination of his enlistment deferral,” a statement read. “We will inform you of the continuation in due course. We ask that you extend your continued love and support to Suga until he completes his military service and returns safely. As for us, we will do everything to support our artist. »
In South Korea, all men must submit to military service for about a year and a half. A civic duty which Koreans must in principle fulfill before the age of 28, unless they benefit from an exemption, which was the case for Suga like other members of BTS who have passed this fateful age.
Suga will be the third member of the boy band to begin his military service, a few months after his two acolytes Jin and J-Hope.
