An American obsessed with her faith in the apocalypse and the doomsday was sentenced to life in prison on Monday for the murder of two of her children and for helping to prepare for the murder of her husband’s ex-wife.
An Idaho judge sentenced Lori Vallow to three cumulative life sentences, given the gravity of her crimes.
This mother claimed to be a goddess responsible for preparing humanity for the second coming of Christ and assured that she could communicate with the angels.
According to the prosecution, she notably invoked her religious faith to justify her murders, which were the subject of a documentary series produced by Netflix – “Our Murderous Mother”.
The American was found guilty in May of the deaths of her 16-year-old daughter Tylee Ryan and her adopted son Joshua “JJ” Vallow, 7.
Her fifth husband, Chad Daybell, author of several self-published apocalyptic novels, is awaiting trial for similar charges, including the murder of his first wife, Tammy.
The couple made headlines at the end of 2019 in the United States, after the disappearance of Ms. Vallow’s children.
Ms. Vallow and Mr. Daybell never reported the children missing. Their bodies were found in June 2020 on property owned by the husband in Idaho.
The inquest also revealed that several people linked to the couple had died in recent years. Among them was Mr Daybell’s ex-wife, Tammy, who died in October 2019, weeks before the couple moved to Hawaii. His seemingly natural death was later ruled a murder.
Ms Vallow was raised Mormon, before adopting radical beliefs over time.
In 2018, she met Mr. Daybell, the leader of a Mormon cult who was preparing for the end times, at a religious conference in Utah.
