Zelensky visits special operations forces in Bakhmut during the Ukrainian Army’s counteroffensive. The president praises his heroic performance and highlights the strength of the troops at the front after 520 days of war.

Zelensky visits the special operations forces on the front line in Bakhmut where the Ukrainian Army continues its counteroffensive. According to Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar, progress is taking place in the south of the city. The president of Ukraine has appeared in a video recorded in a bunker handing out decorations to soldiers.

He has underlined their heroic performance and has dedicated a tweet to them in which he has underlined the strength of the troops that are at the front defending the freedom and lives of Ukrainians after 520 days of war.

“Bajmut front, forward positions of the Special Operations Forces. Today I am here to congratulate our soldiers on the day they are honored, to honor their strength,” the Ukrainian leader said in the short text.

“I heard the report from one of the commanders, I spoke with the warriors. Very powerful, very effective,” says the message, which is accompanied by a video in which Zelenski is seen in a bunker addressing a group of soldiers and handing out decorations. .

The president added that at the moment it is not possible to reveal details about the current operations of the SSOs and that this can only be done “after a while”, but described their performance as “truly heroic”.

Meanwhile, the bombings continue. In Dnipro at least nine people have been injured after a Russian attack on an apartment block and a security services building.

This attack in Ukraine came just hours after Russian authorities announced that two Ukrainian missiles had been intercepted over southwestern Russia. Falling debris from one of them injured at least 16 people in Taganrod, according to Russia.
