American singer Taylor Swift has the most No. 1 albums by any female artist of all time to her credit. Her latest album, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), released earlier this month, is her twelfth LP to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
With that record she beats Barbra Streisand who has eleven number 1 albums. Swift is tied with Drake, who also has twelve albums at the No. 1 spot. Only Jay-Z does even better as a solo artist with fourteen albums. The Beatles are well ahead with nineteen albums at number 1.
Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is Taylor Swift’s third album she has re-released. In June 2019, US record executive Scooter Braun bought the record label Big Machine Label Group who owned the rights to Swift’s first six albums. The singer then decided to re-release her records under her own name. She previously re-released Fearless and Red.
Four albums in the top 10
Her latest album contains sixteen rewritten songs that were also on the original 2010 album. Six previously unreleased songs have been added. The LP was released on July 7 and has sold 716,000 copies since then, reports The New York Times.
Never Grow Up is one of the songs on the new version of Speak Now:
That twelfth number 1 position is not the only record that the immensely popular singer has achieved. Because in addition to this album, there are currently three more albums of hers in the top 10 of the Billboard 200. Midnights is at 5th place, Lover at 7th and Folklore closes the top 10.
According to Billboard, she is the only artist to release a No. 1 album in each of the past five calendar years: Lover (2019), Folklore and Evermore (2020), Fearless (Taylor’s Version) (2021), Midnights (2022) and This year so Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).
Concerts in Arena
Swift will perform three times in the Netherlands next July. The series of concerts are part of her European The Eras Tour. The American will then give 26 concerts in Europe. It has been eight years since she gave her last concert in the Netherlands.
It was quite a challenge for fans to get tickets. Fans had to register with the seller before June 24 and leave information such as their telephone number, email address and zip code.
Once the registration process was completed, some of the registered fans received a special access code for ticket sales. Swift tries to protect her fans with it – something that ultimately benefits her herself.
