The Swiss stock exchange regulator is opening an investigation into chocolate company Barry Callebaut for a possible violation of financial reporting rules.
The investigation would concern annual figures published too early. In November 2022, the company published its annual results online a day earlier than planned, while the stock exchange was still open. The group immediately contacted the Swiss exchange operator about this and provided the necessary information, the company says.
The stock market regulator said Friday that there is sufficient evidence of a possible regulatory violation. Barry Callebaut says he is cooperating with the investigation.
Listed companies must adhere to strict rules when communicating about matters that can affect the share price. Financial results information must appear outside trading hours.
