VVD party leader in the House of Representatives Sophie Hermans has no ambition to become the leader of her party in the upcoming elections. That says the politician on Twitter.
Hermans says she has been asked a number of times if she wants to become the leader of the VVD list, but that she does not have that ambition. The position is vacant now that caretaker Prime Minister Mark Rutte has announced his departure from politics.
Former ministers Klaas Dijkhoff, Edith Schippers and Jeanine Hennis, who were also named for the list leader, have all three announced that they are not available.
Outgoing Minister of Security and Justice Dilan Yesilgöz says she does not yet know whether she wants to succeed Mark Rutte as political leader of the VVD. She’s still thinking about that. Yesterday, former Member of Parliament André Bosman put himself forward as a candidate.
